Smart Board is the brand name of an interactive whiteboard used by the Warner School of Education in LeChase Hall. The first floor classrooms (which are shared between Warner and AS&E) have a number of these Smart Boards installed. Warner School IT support is responsible for warranty repairs and support for the whiteboards in LeChase Hall.
*NOTE: Your laptop has to meet miniumum requirements
The interactive whiteboard should work together with a computer and a projector. It can be easily connected to a computer through a USB cable. Interactive whiteboard is also known as smart board, Gaoke's GK-880H Series is an ideal tool for any educational, teaching or training environment.
Drivers Smart Board Cable Modem
Start by connecting directly to the smart board with a straight USB coonection. If it works, put in the other USB cable. If that works, add in the USB extenders with a short patch cable. If it still works go back to your original configuration and switch out the PC. No more troubles with connecting your SMART board to your PC or notebook: SMART tutorials show you how to make sure all is ready to start the Interactive Whi.

There is a cable that comes from the SMART Board control panel box (see Fig 4), that connects into the pen tray which looks similar to a telephone cable. There are two possible sockets on the pen tray that this cable can connect into.
The Smart Board drivers will allow you to hook your laptop to the Smart Board USB cable which will turn it into a large scale 'tablet' you can use to open/close or draw on your PowerPoint slides. Good options for this style of lecturing would be Word, PowerPoint or Microsoft OneNote (Download MicroSoft OneNote) which all allow you to mark-up a blank page with whatever notes you want to write on the board during class. These Microsoft Office applications are 'ink-aware' when you attach the Smart Board USB cable and will allow you to mark-up blank pages or PowerPoint slides with the pens located in the pen tray on the Smart Board.
